What is one of the first things that come to mind when you think of Amsterdam? The Red Light District, smoking weed and getting hit by a bicycle. Wrong! Canals of course - so why not decicate a whole museum to it? The museum is situated in a historical canal house at Herengracht and the imposing facade tells you straight away that the property was inhabited by wealthy bankers and merchants since 1663. The museum exposes the history of the canal belt by 3D animations, audio and projections, almost like Games of Thrones. If you want to impress the folks at home with your Amsterdam history knowledge this is the place to go!
