Best running spots in A’dam.
Every year tens of thousands of runners run the 10 English miles (16.1 km) from Amsterdam to Zaandam. This year, on September 23, 2018 our fantastic Conscious team will take on this challenge. Are you also participating? Then you know Amsterdam has a lot of beautiful parks, nature reserves and forests that lend themselves perfectly for running. We like to make it easy for you, so we have listed the best routes - including distances.

  1. Beatrixpark – 2.5 km
This royal park in Oud Zuid is the ideal running trail for beginners. You can run wonderfully over the paved roads; with a standard round of 2.5 km.

  1. Westerpark - 5 km
The luscious Westerpark offers many options. Start at Houtmankade and follow the asphalted paths to the ING Bank, then run back along the same route. Another option we love to choose is the quite off-track route, which leads you over narrow sand paths along calm waters. After a good run don’t forget to treat yourself with a nice coffee or guilty pleasure from Conscious Café ;)

  1. Sloterplas – 5.5 km
Popular for runners because of the annual running competition: Sloterplasloop. Run a quiet round around the lake, which has a circumference of 5.5 km, while you enjoy the sailors, canoeists and fishermen present.

  1. Amsterdamse Bos - 5 km, 10 km or 21 km
You would almost think that the Amsterdam Forest - which is three times larger than the New York
Central Park - is especially made for runners. You can choose to wander through the forest on your
own, or to follow one of the marked routes. All three routes start and end at the Boswinkel and partly
follow the same path; convenient if your running buddy wants to run a diffrent distance.

  1. Amstel - 23 km
The real die-hards can choose for the running route straight through the city: you can simply follow the water of The Amstel.

Put on those fearless (running) shoes, thoughts at zero and just run!
