Somehow we got an awesome idea - a NoWaste Dinner.
Collect food from supermarkets that throwing away food before the 'best before' date (supermarket managers loved it - imagine how terrible it feels to throw away food every day! Poor souls) and do a pop-up restaurant in our Conscious Hotel Vondelpark. We found a chef - Simon - who loves to do freestyle cooking once in a while.
Simon gets all (very random, obviously) ingredients in the morning and makes an awesome three course dinner out of them.
Guests (YOU!) enjoy this dinner and pay what they wish for it. All the proceeds go to a small neighborhood charity!
And so it was done. The first NoWaste dinner was a great success (the lucky charity was Icanchangetheworldwithmytwohands, a local neighborhood vegetable garden) and therefore we organized a second one where Wellbeeing (a city beekeeper who takes care of a lot of very important bees) received all collected money.
Both evenings were very inspirings, fully booked and a lot of new connections were made. We're planning new NoWaste dinners soon!
